About the role
Newport AI is building the most capable multimodal AI platform for enterprise, including digital avatars, voice synthesis, image generation, and more. As an AI Research Engineer, you'll sit at the intersection of research and product, turning cutting-edge ideas into real systems that ship.
What you'll do
- Develop and optimize large-scale generative models for audio, video, and image
- Design training pipelines and fine-tuning strategies for enterprise use cases
- Collaborate with product engineers to integrate research into production
- Publish or present findings at top ML conferences when appropriate
- Stay current with the AI landscape and identify opportunities for product improvement
What we're looking for
- MS or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or related field
- Strong background in deep learning with PyTorch or JAX
- Experience training or fine-tuning large generative models
- Publications or project experience in computer vision, speech, or NLP
- Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly to non-technical stakeholders
